This morning we were walking at the Bothanical garden when he suddenly said "It´s two weeks from Tuesday to reach the American soil again". Essa manhã nós estávamos no Jardim Botânico quando ele subitamente disse "Faltam duas semanas a partir de terça-feira para tocar em solo americano."
You can tell how excited he is with the trip by the number of times he has already mentioned it, and talked about what he wants to do there. Você pode dizer quão feliz ele está com a viagem pelas vezes que tem mencionado isso e falado sobre o que ele quer fazer lá.
Me on the other hand, do not like to talk about any trip before it happens. I think there´s a part of me that wants to be totally sure it will really happen, not to be disappointed later. Eu por outro lado, não gosto de falar sobre viagem alguma antes que aconteça. Acho que há uma parte de mim que quer estar totalmente certa de que realmente irá acontecer para não me desapontar mais tarde.
It´s confusing because one day he says I could have choosen any place in the world to go, includig my beloved England, but five minutes later he is all excited and talking to everyone about how happy he is about meeting his family again. É confuso porque um dia ele diz que poderia ter escolhido qualquer lugar no mundo para ir, incluindo minha amada Inglaterra, mas 5 minutos depois ele está todo feliz contando para todo mundo quão feliz ele está por encontrar sua família novamente.
How could I challenge that and tell him to go to any place other than the US? Como eu poderia bater isso e dizer a ele para ir a outro lugar que não fosse os EUA?
No way I´d be the one to keep him from seeing his sisters and brothers again! De jeito nenhum eu seria aquela que o manteria longe de ver suas irmãs e irmãos novamente!
Thank God his family is spread all over the country because I can, at least, see some different places and experience
how ordinary American people live. I know I´m Brazilian, but I do NOT want to go to tourism spots. I´ll only see tourists there! I want to go where Americans go, I want to see what Americans see and most important, I want to live the way they do. Is it too much to want to learn about the culture of a country from real people and not some "experts" talking you through their culture?. I want to live it not study it. Graças a Deus sua família está espalhada por todo os EUA porque eu posso, pelo menos, ver alguns lugares diferentes e sentir como Americanos comuns vivem. Sei que sou brasileira, mas não quero ir a lugares turísticos. Eu só veria turistas lá! Quero ir onde os americanos vão. Quero ver o que os americanos vêem e mais importante, quero viver como eles vivem. É muito querer aprender sobre a cultura de um país por pessoas reais e não uns "especialistas" te levando a conhecer sua cultura?. Eu quero vivê-la e não estudá-la.
